I'm trying to get a total count of cells in a column that have a value
greater than 0, and if possible by odd numbered cells, not a total amount but
a total count. any ideas?

=countif(a:a,">"&0)

and

=sumproduct(--(A1:A100>0),--(MOD(ROW(A1:A100),2)=1))

Adjust the ranges to match--but you can't use whole columns.

=sumproduct() likes to work with numbers. The -- stuff changes trues and falses
to 1's and 0's.
