i used Excel 2003 did a worksheet, and protect by password, so only
certain columns can edit by other user. when i took to the office,
because they only got Excel 97, so i can edit any column. what shall i
do if i can't install excel 2003 in the office?

You can't, always design based on the the oldest software that will be used,
that means not using things that have been added in later versions if it
makes the spreadsheet unusable
