Hidden emails in 2003 on exchange 5.5

I've got a couple of users in my organisation (running Outlook 2003 on
Exchange 5.5) who have their primary exchange mailbox and also a secondary
exchange mailbox added on via Tools\Email accounts\View/change
email\Change\More Settings\Advanced\Add...
This secondary mailbox tells them there's 3 unread emails & 15 in total but
they can only see 12 in the mailbox. There are no filters applied or strange
views.

If the secondary mailbox is loaded onto another PC as a primary mailbox all
the mail is visible but it still doesn't show on their first PC...
Any ideas?
