hidden pictures

Hi, I have an seemingly unsolvable problem where I want
an image to have the option of being deleted.
Unfortunately this seems impossible if I have protected
form sections in the same doc. So, in a compromise,
could anyone tell me how to make an image hidden so it
won't print but is visible on screen? Any help on this
would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi, janie. In Word, try clicking on Tools | Options | Print | uncheck the "Drawing objects" box | OK. This will prevent all drawing objects (including images) from printing. I don't know how this setting will affect your form, so you will have to print your doc to see if the form elements still print.

I think the problem you are having is because your image is floating over
text in the drawing layer, and the drawing layer is completely inaccesible
in any part of a document that is protected for forms, not just in the
protected sections. To make your image selectable, do the following:

With forms protection turned off, right-click the image and click
Format>Picture. On the Layout tab, change the layout to "In line with
text". Now reprotect your form. You should be able to select the image
now.

thanks your advice worked although I now have another
problem! The logo I wanted to be able to delete was on
the top of the letter and now no text can be put
alongside it on the right. I've tried a text box but
that doesn't seem to work either. Any thoughts? Thanks
again, janie.

Try putting the logo in the left cell and text in the right cell of a
two-column, single-row borderless table.
