Hidden Text

In Word, sometimes when I type a line, such as a signature line, it does not appear. How do I turn off that feature?

I not sure what you mean by a signature line. However, if it's being
formatted as hidden text, you might be able to toggle it using Ctrl+Shift+8.
Or, look at Tools - Options - View - Formatting Marks, and make sure that
Hidden is checked. Or, if you don't want hidden formatting at all, then
(assuming hidden is an attribute of some style you're using) change the
formatting of the underlying style to remove the hidden formatting.
