Hide image edges outside of slide parameters

I have designed a custom slide master that incorprates shapes that run over
the edge of the slide. How can I save this file to only see the layout that
fits inside the parameters of the slide?

Do you mean in edit mode you do not want to see the objects outside the
editable area? If so you need to adust shapes or use CROP tool on imported
images so they at 'cut' down to the size of the slide.

During playback only the content within the editable area will be visible
(unless animated onto the editable/live area).
