Hide Outlook 2003 Icon

I'm looking for a way to either hide or delete the Outllok 2003 Icon that
appears on the desktop by defualt when Office 2003 is installed. I found the
following KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321777 that works. The
problem is on the next Office update, detetc and repair, or SP install the
Ocon is restored. I was hoping there was a way through a GPO or creating a
custome adm file to supress this icon. ANy help would be most appreciated.

Are you using Windows 2000 or previous? Outlook 2003 in combination with
Windows XP and Vista does not show this icon on the desktop by default.

Either way, you can set your custom installation to delete that key or use a
startup script instead. This way, it gets removed even when it auto-repairs.

A startup script; yes
Direct control over the placement of the icon as an option; not that I know
