hide quick tag symbol in design view

In design view I am seeing the quick tag symbol. How do I hide this symbol

Choose View and uncheck Reveal Tags

Thanks. I did what told but the problem remains. When I go into code the
symbol shown is </td>. In Design view I see the symbol for </td> everywhere.
This is new and never happened before

I may have been wrong. The sign that shows all over my opened pages in design
view is the ¶ sign. How do I get rid of this

With the Reveal Tags. There's also a little icon that looks like that sign
on the toolbar. Just click it.
