hide the object before 'motion path' begins

I have an object for which I have defined a custom motion path (with
the option 'on mouse click'). Now, I want this object not to be
visible on the slide show before I actually click to begin its motion
path. Is it possible to do this?

Yes. Give it an "appear" entrance effect that happens immediately before or
starting at the same time as the motion path.
