Hiding gridlines in tables

I can't for the life of me get the gridlines in tables
not to print. I highlight the table, then click on "Hide
Gridlines," and the lines still print. What do I need to
do differently?

Hello,
I'm having a similar problem - my table gridlines (not
borders) are showing, although I "hide gridlines" then
save. When I upload this Word doc to my website, the
document appears WITH gridlines upon download. I've
checked, and these are not borders.

Any help you could offer would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you

Gridlines will be displayed if Table | Show Gridlines is enabled. The state
of this setting in the parent window determines what it will be in a
document opened from that window. Also, you cannot control the setting on
another user's machine.
