Hiding queries

I want to run a query only to weed out uneeded info from
the table. Then I want to do calcs on the columns in the
query. What I need to know is how to run the query
without it appearing? All calculations will be done
withing the code and I don't need the user to enter any
data. How do I hide it?

You can create a macro that opens the query and then closes the query. You
can achieve the same with VBA code.

I figured that much, but what is the syntax? I've never
use VBA behind an access database. Sorry, maybe I wasn't
clear enough.
