hiding tombstone info if sub report is null

Hello,

i have a report with a subreport. The report will be filtered based the
presence or absence of a value in the subreport. If the value (example:
type=followup) is null, I dont want them to appear, neither the main or sub
report.

At present, I have entered the where condition in the subreport query. When
i run the report, I get only those child records with a true where condition,
but the main report tombstone information still appears for those records
without child data still appears.

How can I get just the specified records in the report?
