High CPU cycles - slow response

J

JayL

All-
Strange issue with Outlook 2k. 10 seconds after launching program the
system becomes extremely slow. I've notice the CPU cycles never go below
60% and system idle processes and Outlook.exe are the culprits eating the
CPU resources. I've uninstalled McAfee and trimmed the programs down to bare
bones thinking that might be the problem.
Using Win XP Home with all patches and fixes from Microsoft and Office 2000
pro with SP3 on a 2.8 Intel machine.
Any help is appreciated.
TIA - Jay
