highlight

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I am editing formatted text in Word. I want to be able to select words and highlight them in various colors - yellow, green, no highlight, etc. - without changing the existing formatting (bold, italics) - and do this entirely using customized keyboard shortcuts and the shift and arrow keys (that is, no mouse). How can I do this?

Thanks,
- Steve

Basically the same answer here :) You can assign a keystroke to the
Highlight command itself but it applies whatever color is currently set. You
can neither

assign strokes to the individual Highlight colors nor select a different
color when using the assigned keystroke.

OK. It really helps to know I simply can't change highlight colors with keystrokes - I'll quit trying to find a way!
Back to the touchpad ... :))
Thanks Bob,
