highlighted slides in Presenter View

While I am using Presenter View, different slides are highlighted along the
list of slides at the bottom of the screen. The computer goes back to
highlight the first slide for a few seconds, then highlights the second
slide, and so on. The correct slide is being shown on the projector, but it
is a problem when I need to jump to a slide out of order, because what I
highlight won't 'stay highlighted'.

This sounds like you have an addin that is changing the focus of the slides
in the background. What addins are loaded
