How do I highlight, cut, paste, etc. with a mac like I did with my PC?

Not exactly. key mappings are different.

Command (open apple or cloverleaf key) - X = cut
Command - C = Cut
Command - V equal paste

to highlight a section of text you can either click at beginning of text
desired and scroll mouse to end then use one of the keys combos above.

or click at beginning hold shift key down and click again at end and as
above.

if you want to chose non-contingent section do as just above but scroll
to next section you want to copy and use Command while clicking then
shit to click at end Repeat as needed. Then use Command X,C.or V as
needed.

Or you can go to edit menu and choose.

And if you used to use the right-click menu to do this on the PC--hold
down control while clicking on Mac to get a right-click menu--or plug in
a two-button mouse.

Actually with some two button Mice with the help of a Utility called USB
OverDrive you can set the right button to open context menu as in a PC.
Other will do natively. Although USB OVERDRIVE can speed up a poky mouse.
