Hit counter no longer appears

My hit counter has been working fine for months. Now all
I see is a little box with an "x". I tried putting in a
new counter and still get the "x".

Have your host reset the FrontPage extensions.

I'm not quite sure what that means. I update the web site
and I have it through tripod

You need to check with Tripod and make sure
FrontPage extensions are installed on the server, and working
for your site. The extensions are required for the
hit counter to work.
