Hit counter not counting

I have moved an intranet web site to a new web server
with FP2002 web extensions installed. Each page has a hit
counter at the bottom which worked fine.

From the new server my hit counters on each page are no
longer counting - meaning they now always show 00001.
Seems like a count isn't being recorded somewhere.

Any ideas as to the problem??

Make sure the _private folder has write permissions on the host server.
