Hit Counter Reset

I've been trying to reset my counter on FP 2002. After putting in the new
numbers, FP seems to accept it. But, when published, it starts from "1".
Suggestions?

You need to open the live/remote site directly in FP, then open the _private folder and edit the
pagename.htm.cnt file in notepad.
