Home edition vs Standard+

Dave

Hello everyone,

A couple of question re MS Home and Student edition versus MS Office
Standard, or greater, editions.

Are Excel & Word identical in both editions? I understand, from John
Walkenbach's article, that there was a difference in Excel between the
2003 Standard and Pro editions.

How does the licensing work? For instance, what's to prevent a
business from using a Home and Student instead of Office Standard?

Regards,

Dave

They are the same.

As for what keeps a business from using the HSE, just a little something
called ethics.

Hi JoAnn

Thanks for your reply - and it's refreshing to hear that microsoft
still relies on ethics, must mean that it still exists.

If MS relied on ethics, we wouldn't have to put up with activations and WGA
and Vista shutting down when a non-confomring program is installed.

There is a point where ethics won't suffice. And what "non conforming
program" caused a shut down!?!? I think at a minimum the correct phrase
would be: "If MS ONLY relied on ethics, we wouldn't......".
Unfortunately the thieves make it harder on both Microsoft AND the USER.

copy of Office 2003. When I try to install, I get msg saying couldn't find
expected version. Any help?

Your question should have been a new post, not a reply to my ethics comment.

You have an upgrade and your system cannot find a product to upgrade. You
need to talk to your IT department about the software.
