Can anyone tell me how to get a home page
please ..... I just keep getting a message
saying " click new page on the tool bar to create
a home page . But where is this new page

You must first create a new web, go to FILES/NEW a menu option will appear.
After creating a web, FP usually creates a home (index or default) htm.

The new page icon on the tool bar - that's what its talking about the "new page"
will be a blank screen.

Remember you have to have an open web before you create a page.
