I have an index page and 20 or so children pages shown in the navigation
view, index.html and children.
When I add buttons using shared borders including the home page. the home
page does not show up as a button. When I changed the home page to have
only a link to the home page, clicking on this link takes me to a file view
of the main directory.

Where can I find the links that FP is using for linking between pages? I
would like to know where it is looking for index.html.

TIA

The FP navigation does not link to an actual page when link to the home page of the site. If you are
see the content of the root web, then you home page is not named as required by your web host. You
have to contact them for the correct file name and case (if on Unix/Linux)

thanks Thomas for your quick response. I have not yet published the pages
to the web site, this is during development and all pages are still local.

I set up child pages to include the home page, but no link is present to the
home page.

The vertical navigation bar of the child pages is set for 'Same Level' and
'Home Page'. All the child links are there but none to home. I have
horizontal bars on the index.html home page with 'Child Level' only. I must
have something wierd. The home page links all work to the child pages and
the child pages all link to each other, there just is no link back to Home
from the child pages.

FP doesn't create a link to a actual filename for the link to the home page.
