Honest opinion on webhost4life.com

I looked at all of the features that they had and it looked great, and the
price even better. But I looked at some of the comments about the hosting in
previous threads.

The one bad thing I saw was the servers were slow. Does this mean that it
will be slow to bring up for visitors, or did you mean it is slow when
uploading files to publish. I really like the package, but my site will not
be hobby website. It will be visited by at least 4,000 to 10,000 people a
week, with many (high school-football)pictures being looked at. Would it be
ok to go with them? If not, anybody else have a good rec. on something
comparable.

Thanks!

Since you plan to a lot of photo, be sure to look for a web host that offer a high bandwidth
allowance, otherwise your monthly bandwidth will kill any saving when using a low cost web host.
Also keep in mind that the file size of your images and number per page will also determine how fast
certain pages will load.

M,
I don't know what's meant by their servers being slow.
But, if you decide not to go with webhost4life, you might
consider the hosting company I use called
Voicegateway.com. They seem to have the latest MS
servers for FP Webs, are reliable and provide good e-mail
support.

Avoid them like the plague! They used to be a fairly good hosting company,
but they've recently gone down the toilet. Their service is horrible
(deleted content, site down, e-mail down) and their support is even worse.
I have a ticket open with their support right now that is severity 1 (the
highest) for e-mail that is completely down on one of my domains and they
haven't responded to it in almost a week!

They currently owe me $87 for referrals from over a year ago (back when they
were good.) I've requested that check several times over the last year and
they still haven't sent it. If I finally do get hold of someone via their
support system, as soon as I mention getting my check, they drop off the
face of the earth and I never hear from them again.

I just transferred one of my domains to discountasp.com to try them out. So
far, I've been quite pleased with them and they are well-reviewed by people
who actually use them.
