Horizontal axis scale issue

Processor: Intel

After creating a chart in excel and using the date MON-YY format for the Horizontal axis (or any other date format for that matter), if I then attempt to format the axis and select the Scale menu item every time i attempt to select or deselect i receive an error "the entry is invalid for the data used by this chart. Please enter a value that falls within the minimum and maximum data values used by this chart."

This even occurs when I attempt to uncheck the Vertical (value) axis crosses between dates.

How do I get around this issues?

Thank you for reporting this information. The workaround is in the Format
(Horizontal) Axis dialog's Scale pane to only have numeric date values (like
9/1/2007 as a min, 12/1/2008 as a max, and 9/1/2007 as Value (Y) axis
crosses at textbox value). Sorry about any inconvenience, we are
investigating this issue.

Thanks again,
Eric
