Horizontal Scroll Bar Question

I looked at most of your pages and could not find a page without a scroll
bar.

A scroll bar is required when a web page is wider than the browser window
viewing it. I would suggest that you change the width of your pages to no
more than the widest Publisher default width of 984 pixels wide and fit all
your content onto that size. Even then if the browser window is less than
984 pixels wide, then the viewer will have horizontal scroll bars. Also
under Tools run the design checker tool and confirm that all your content is
on the page and not in the scratch area and to spot any other problems with
your pages.

By the way, http://www.gracepcablairsville.com/ is a fine width...a better
width in my opinion. If you want to know what went wrong, then ask yourself
what you did different with your newly designed site. It may be that your
new background images are messing things up. After all
http://www.gracepcablairsville.com/GracepcaReformat_files/image469.jpg is
1,326 pixels wide.

If you aren't satisfied with the centering code you are using in
http://www.gracepcablairsville.com:
</head><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" width="700"
align="center"><tr><td>

then change the width to the width in the code snippet to that of your page
which is probably 760.

Also when you are finished be sure to go back to the default index.htm file
for your home page.

Interesting, David. Thanks for your resonse and insight. When I look at the
"Reformat" pages, only two have the horizontal scroll, the rest do not. Will
try your suggestions. Thanks so much - I appreciate your time!

It depends on the viewer's viewport size...which you can never predict...if
the viewport is to narrow to display all the content the scroll bar will
appear.
