Hot Buttons

When I insert a hot button it allows me to make changes
and pictures etc. But when I go to preview or load it to
the web all it shows is an outline of the button and a
small icon. What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean hover buttons? There use is depricated now as
Windows does not ship with Java, which is required to see
them
