Hotmail doesn't go into 2 computers using Outlook 2007 on XP.

two Why doesn't Hotmail go into 2-3 computers all using Outlook 2007 and XP
on and Vista on one? Just one computer is pulling in the mails. One of the
XP's is getting the mails.

Are all computers configured to leave mail on the server (it isn't
configured to do so by default)?

Not sure with Hotmail as it loaded automatically into Outlook 2007 and I
can't get back into there to check settings. Can I go to web site of Hotmail
to check?

You cannot choose Leave mail on server for web based HTTP mail like Hotmail.
Outlook, even with Outlook Connector installed, is not a good email client
for Hotmail. Use your browser instead for Hotmail. Each Hotmail account is
meant to be used by only one person and not good for a multiple user/business
setup. Hotmail allows only one user at a time signed in for each account.

Care to explain your findings?

What would be your definition of "user" in this case? You can easily have
multiple client logins at a time. Outlook, Windows Live Mail, web browser
and even from different machines at the same time. However, there is a limit
to the amount to connections and syncs you can make per day. So doing a full
sync on multiple clients on the same day is not recommended.

Nina,

If you want a guaranteed way to download your hotmail emails then I suggest
download Windows Live Mail from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...45f6-4d14-a7dc-51e13d11a950&displaylang=en&tm

Microsoft will very soon stop people using OE to download emails from hotmail:

http://emailsupport.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!5D6F5A79A79B6708!5359.entry

Windows Live Mail allows you to download your emails from Hotmail accounts FREE
OF CHARGE even if you have a new account. Also it supports 5 GB of storage
which you get with Hotmail account (I guess Spammers would love it to send you
all that spam!)

Hope this helps.

At one time, Hotmail was restricting concurrent connection attempts from
the same IP address. When Outlook (connector) polls a Hotmail account,
it establishes a mail session but disconnects. So I can see why you
might be concurrently using a web browser and Outlook to access a
Hotmail account simply because when they actually do the accesses are
not overlapping.

Hotmail accounts are designed to be shared. POP3 accounts are designed
for single access. You'll need to find someone that gives you an IMAP
account.

Are you connecting to Hotmail via POP3? Did you ever install the
Outlook Connector plug-in and use that in OL2007 to connect to your
shared Hotmail account?

No, I don't have POP3 to use Hotmail. Yes I had to install the
connector. I deleted the account and reinstalled Hotmail and now get
the mails ok. Just don't like the fact that I have to look in another
spot on screne to find the account whereas POP3 account all load in
same area of Outlook in left panel. That is why I choose to use Gamil
for now.

Does anyone have idea why I am getting sent mails coming back into my
inbox thru Outlook 2007 with Gmail? I have to go back and forward
them into the sent folder.

Gmail's web page states that it saves copies in the Inbox.
