Hotmail/Outlook Address Book

I've viewed some of the strings regarding this problem in the forum, but I
haven't found the solution I'm looking for.

I have a Hotmail email account and am attempting to set it up through
Outlook. When I do I get a Personal Folder and a Hotmail Folder. The Personal
Folder's Contact Folder lists all the addresses that are in my Hotmail
Address Book. My Outlook Hotmail Folder does not have my Address Book.

I want to remove the Personal Folder and have only the Hotmail Folder shown
with it's Address Book.

You can disable your Contact folder in your personal folders to be shown as
an address book and set the Hotmail one as default. I'd first copy entries
from the local one to Hotmail.
Right-click on your Contact folder, select properties, select the Outlook
Address Book tab and disable it as an email address book.
Use Ctrl + Shift + B to bring up the address book and then Tools | Options
to set preferences.
I really can't see much of a need for all of this.

Address Book was already disabled. I cannot get my contacts/address to show
when I create a new message and select "To".

Ensure the folder is set to be viewed as an address book then use Use Ctrl +
Shift + B to bring up the address book and then Tools | Options
to set preferences.

Thanks Bill. Either I'm not explaining myself very well, or I need more
details. Let me start over. I was accessing Hotmail through Outlook on my old
computer and I had it setup so that it defaulted to the Hotmail Folder. The
account also defaulted to my Calendar and my Address Book. That was long ago
now I can't remember how I did that. My new computer defaults to a Personal
Folder, which has the addresses and the Calendar that should be in my Hotmail
Folder. So none of my Addresses show when I attempt to create a new message
from my Hotmail Folder. Thank you for your patience.

I've honestly never defaulted to Hotmail. All I've ever seen is Hotmail
being a separate set of folders. It's that way for a reason since it is only
a copy of the online data and can be removed and recreated from that data.

I figured out how to do what I want. I opened the Personal Contacts folder
that has all my Contacts. I highlighted one of the contacts, selected all
(Ctrl-A), and copied them to my Hotmail Contacts folder. Next I deleted all
the Personal Contacts Folders. Then in my "All Mail Folders" box I closed any
Personal Folders that were shown. Now whenever I open Outlook, the only
account shown is my Hotmail account, which now has all my contacts in my
Address Book.
