hotmail/outlook will not send mail

For the past 18 hours, Outlook has refused to send mail.
Error proceeds as: "An exception of
type 'MicrosoftJScript' runtime error. The remote server
machine does not exist or is unavailable." But when i use
an alternative Hotmail address it works.
