Hotmail with Outlook 2002

I am unable to download any messages from my hotmail
account to my Outlook 2002.
Everytime I click Send/Receive, I will receive this error
message.

Task 'Hotmail: Folder: Downloading all items.' reported
error (0x800CCCF4) :
'An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing
work and restart the program.'

What does this mean?
How do I go about resolving this?

Even if I change my Send / Receive settings to download
item description only instead of the complete item, I
will also get a similar error message.

Please help.

Tried that before but was unable to resolve the problem.
That knowledge base is tells about basic setup.
