hour clock comes up every 10 seconds as if auto save...

after i open word 2000, the hour clock (cursor changes to
hour clock) every 10 second as if autosave was wet to 10
seconds. I tried reinstalling the program several times
but it still doesn't take that bug out. can anyone help.
p.s. the auto save is set for 10 minutes. it is quite
annoying especially when trying to create a doc. please
help!
