Hour glass

I have one user who gets the recovery console on a regular basis in Word and
she gets a prolonged hourglass in Outlook when inserting a Word doc into an
email.....Detect & Repair didn't work, changed her default printer and
waiting to her if this helped at all, no normal.dot error message.

Ideas?

Sounds like you have a virus scanner which integrates itself with Outlook
and/or is configured to scan the contents of Office documents.
Disable/uninstall this feature and try again.
