How do I convert 2:15 TIME VALUE (2 hours and 15 minutes) to 2.25
hours?
I'm really beat on this one. Please be specific. Thanks so much.

Format as General (or as Number, but don't leave it as Time as Excel did)

I must not be doing something right to get 2.25 hours.

I added times of day and got 2:15 (time value format-2hours & 1
minutes). 2:15 is in cell A1. Then I tried =CONVERT(A1,"day","hr"
with Number and General format and received #NAME?. Tried =A1*24 wit
Number and General format and received 0.

Please help

But remember that the CONVERT function is only available if the Analysis
ToolPak add-in is installed.

For CONVERT you need the Analysis ToolPak add-in.

=A1*24 should work, so my guess is that your 2:15 is not formatted as time.
Check the format of A1.
