Dale,
The Hover Buttons feature of FronPage 2000 requires the computer viewing the
site to have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed. For a bunch of
reasons, to lengthy to go into here, JVM support on Windows computers is
spotty (especially starting with Windows XP) which means you can't guarantee
that somone viewing your site has a JVM installed. When this happens, users
will see empty gray boxes that don't link to anything. In many cases, this
will render your site useless since they won't be able to navigate.
I viewed your site and I'm getting the "empty gray boxes" I just spoke of.
I do, however, have a JVM installed which leads me to believe that there is
a problem with the supporting files on the server side. In the directory
with your page should be a file called "fphover.class." This contains the
code that drives the hover buttons. It appears the file is missing which
would cause this problem. If you add it to your site, the links should
work.
But I hope you'll take my advice and consider dropping the Hover Buttons
entirely. A boring link is still a link. A broken Hover Button could cost
you business.
Good luck!
