How are Custom Properties sorted

Marco

As most of us know we can define Custom Properties on shapes.
Originally I though that the properties were sorted by label. But that did not seem to be the case.
Later on after inspecting on the [Menu:Window\Show ShapeSheet] I thought it was based on the name of the property.
However that was also not the case.

Take a shape with custom properties, drag it to the master document, and now drag it back to the document.
The sorting of the Custom Properties are arbitraty

Only thing what makes me guess is there is a SortKey for the Custom Property. But I really don't know what to do with that.

Custom Properties are displayed in the UI in order of the SortKey property.
If SortKey values are the same or missing then the original order in the
Shapesheet is used. To control the display order, place a different numeric
value in the SortKey for every custom property.
