How Autodiscovery works

I have installed Visio 2002 Professional and after the MS Visio Enterprise
Network Tools.
I looked in the menu but I cannot fint the "autodiscovery" function. How it
works?

I need to extract my small lan in my office to create a network diagram, but
I don't know how.
