How avoid solid black print-to-edge bus cards when insert jpg imag

Hello,
Am using Avery 8373 print-to-the-edge business cards. Have designed
business card in photoshop and saved as a jpeg. Image size is exactly 2" x
3.5". Went to Word 2003, brought up Avery labels 8373 New Document,
inserted jpg picture. Got solid black cards. Then tried inserting a text box
and inserted image into it. Again got solid black cards 2" x 3.5". Even
downloaded template of 8373 cards and tried cutting and pasting over them.
Same result, although the downloaded cards printed perfectly. I've run out
of options.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks.

Forget the cards for the moment. Just insert the jpeg into a blank document
and print it: does that print as solid black? -- if so, the problem is with
the jpeg itself. Try saving from Photoshop in other formats (such as TIF or
GIF); or do all the text in Word (which is usually better anyway), and just
use Photoshop for the logo and import that as a picture.

The Avery templates in Word are just tables, set up to match to the labels
or cards you're printing onto. Apart from that, they are just documents same
as any others.
