How can a find sku012.cab file inside of office cd?

I am trying to update office 2003 basec edition, and in the midlle of the
update I get a request to insert the office cd into the D: drive to locate
sku012.cab file. However, even though the office cd is in the drive, the
office update does not seem to find this file. I am using the same cd that I
used for the installation of office before, and the office disk works fine as
I tried in another computer to make sure the disck did not go bad. Please,
can anyone tell me how to proceed. thank you

I believe SKU012.cab is from the Enterprise version of Microsoft Office
2003 Standard. Are you saying that you installed Office 2003 on your
computer using the CD you have?

Yes i am trying to do the update from the office.microsoft. com web site using the same cd that I used for installation. The software was installed by dell when I bought the computer, and I am assuming they used the same cd that they send it together with my laptop. Thanks for your reply

I'm guessing the computer manufacturer used one Office version to image
your hard drive, and included a different Office version CD with your
computer. If you have the CD and product key for Office 2003 Basic,
then you can uninstall the version of Office that is currently on your
hard drive, and install Office from your CD. That should fix the
missing .cab file problem when you visit the OfficeUpdate website.
