Office Wor 2003, a document of about 60 pages suddenly became blank 20KB. I
have failed to recover

20K is about the size of an empty Word 2003 document, so you
probably saved an empty document over your 60-page document. If
you have the "Always create backup copy" option turned on in Word
(Tools->Options->Save), then the old version should be in the
same folder as the current version but with a .wbk filename
extension. If you don't have the backup option turned on, then
the old version is probably gone.

If the document is still open, try Undo. This can happen if you
inadvertently Select All and then press the spacebar or type a single
character (assuming "Typing replaces selection" is enabled).

Here's a wild try. I once hit the white letter A and turned my print, white
on a white page. Thank goodness I thought to select all and then clicked on
a dark color for the text. (The A at the top of the toolbar with the bar
under it and arrow beside it).
