How can I add control point to a free form?

Use the Connection Point Tool (dropdown from the Connector tool) and control
click where you want the connection points to appear.

That adds a connection point, but what about a control point so that a curved
connection line can be further adjusted

Control Handles can only be added programitically or in the ShapeSheet,
however I believe that you want to use the Pencil Tool on the free-form
shape (Nurb)
