In corel word perfect, I can change a text box from square to rounded edges.
Can I do this in word 2003? Are their any other opeions of styles for a text
box that Zi can choose?

thank you

In Word you do it the other way round. Select the shape you want from the
AutoShapes list on the Draw menu (boxes with rounded corners are under Basic
Shapes). Draw the shape. Then right-click and select Add Text -- that turns
the shape into a textbox.

To format the shape itself, click the edge of the shape. You will see a
little yellow diamond: drag this to change the shape. What it changes
depends on the shape -- with a round-cornered box, it changes the corner
curvature; with a smiley face it changes the mouth from a smile to a frown.
Some shapes have nothing to change, in which case, no yellow diamond.

This worked. Thank you ... now . . . I inserted a picture. How can I make
the picture move with the text box? I used the retangle and turned it to
make it look like a diamond, but the picture won't rotate with it. I bet you
can tell me how to do that, too! Thank you.

Select both objects, then select Group from the Draw menu. Then the two
object become one, and will move together.

Dear Jezebel,
This is two answers I've been looking for! Thank You. So . . . I'm going
to push my luck for with one more question. Why would I ever turn something
into a "frame?" I've been trying to get the effects of "group" by using
"frame" because I didn't know any better. Thnank you for being online when I
really needed to hear from you! Crystal

I thought I knew how to "select both ojects," but I don't. If I click on the
photo, I can't click on the text box at the same time, at least not the way I
know how to do it. What are the insructions to select "both" items?

Frames are for text that is part of the main story, but positioned outside
the normal flow of text. The most common use is for headings set out to the
side of the text they refer to (such as Microsoft used to use in the days
when they produced real manuals for their products). A significant point is
that text in frames is included in the table of contents; text in textboxes
is not.

Both objects have to be floating. It won't work if either shape is Inline.

Select the arrow tool from the drawing menu; drag a rectangle that
encompasses the extremities of both objects.
