How can I create a resume that doesn't look like a template?

I am involved in job hunt for a virtual or remote position as a customer
service rep or virtual assistant something along those lines, the competition
is so stiff, how can I make myself a resume that stands out from all the
other template carbon copies?

Be original, start from scratch.

Hi Seeker,

As Rob points out, starting from scratch can help set you apart.
Keep in mind that what you're offering/selling is your experience, your skills, basically you. If you rely on 'flashiness' as the
focus of the document they may not see or read about you. :)

Keep in mind that you're using the resume to get the call for an interview, not the job itself and when someone reads the resume
they are getting a picture in their head of the person who wrote it. You want that to be the same person they meet/talk with,
because it's that person they are interested with. :)

Good luck on your search. As Merlin said in another post,
"If you don't find your job absolutely fulfilling, well"
Let them know what you like, what you do, and importantly, in a way that they perceive that having you is what having you there is
going to do to benefit them, the company' (although you can't put it in those terms).
