How can I deit a Borderart (.brd) file?

I am trying to change the background colour on the torn paper borderart with
little to no success. I have placed this around a text box and provided a
yellowed colour to the text box, but I am presented with a white gap before
we get to the actual black of the torn border - this is sending me insane! I
have searched the World Wide Wait to no avail, is there nobody else that is
trying to do this?

Select the border, copy, paste special as a .wmf (Windows Metafile), ungroup,
click yes, ungroup again, delete everything but the border, you will have to
adjust the corners. Select all, group, put your text box in the back.

Thanks for this Mary, this is way too involved and complex for me... surely,
there must be some way to create a new brd file from scratch. In the end, I
went around the problem by creating a "torn paper" effect in Photoshop as the
whole piece of paper and then used it as the Picture background for the Text
box. In the end, I feel it has turned out a much better result, but for ease
of use and flexibility, I would much prefer either the ability to set a
background colour for BorderArt, or to simply edit the things... ah, well,
suppose we cant all have what we want.

Again, thank you for your expert and quick response.
