You have posted this message to the wrong news group.
The access in this newsgroup's title refers to Microsoft Access, a
database product.
I would suggest you post to the appropriate Word newsgroup.

Wrong newsgroup but do see see the Paragraph icon (looking like a mirrored P
with double vertical line) in the Standard Toolbar depressed?
If you do, click it to hide the paragraph marks.
Alternatively, use the Menu Tools / Options ... / View tab / Formating marks
pane and uncheck marks that you don't want to show.

For Word questions, you may want to ask in a Word newsgroup; the
"access" in microsoft.public.access refers to Access, the database
program.
Tools... Options... View... and uncheck the boxes for the formatting
marks you don't want to see, though.
