how can I dynamically edit a running .pps?

I want to start a .pps on one PC, then make changes to the .pss from another
PC and have the changes show up in the running .pss without stopping and
starting it.

Or can this be done with a running .ppt?

You can do this with one PC itself if you have a graphics card that supports
multiple display outputs. Use PowerShow add-in at
http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html to start the slide show
on the second monitor while you modify the PPT on the primary monitor. The
modifications would be seen as soon as the second monitor navigates to that
slide.

If you insist on using 2 PCs, look at MaxiVista -
http://www.maxivista.com/ - it allows you to use a second PC with its
monitor as a second monitor for another (main) PC. This will allow you to
display the slide show on second PC while starting it from the main PC.
