How can I edit powerpoint presentations from my old computer?

Jamie

My motherboard was fried night before last because of a power surge, which
also took out my surge protector/battery backup. I bought a new computer
yesterday and they added my old hard drive into the new one as a "slave
drive". The problem is, I cannot edit any of my old powerpoint
presentations. It is very important that I be able to do this because the
most important presentation is due on Friday! I can't even copy and paste it
into a new presentation. I tried to use my backup CD to open and edit it,
but it still will not let me do it! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

What TAJ said and ...

Do you even have PowerPoint installed on the new hard drive? If you have
PowerPoint 2003, have you installed all the Service Packs (go to the Help
menu and choose Check for Updates)?
