How can I email 2 linked files without losing the links?

I want to email several excel files to a colleague. The files are linked but
they'll lose the link if I email them. I don't want her to have to 'Update
Links' as it will take forever!

The links will automatically change, if your recipient saves the files to
her HDD. (At least they do in Excel 2007, just tried it.)

Thanks, but it's just Excel 2002 so I don't think it works for us.

What is an HDD anyway?

Is the recipient saving the files to a location on the HDD. Yes, when
they come in from Outlook, they are on the HDD, but it is basically a
temporary folder. Try having her save the two files in their own
folder, and try opening from there.

Wait, that is a silly idea -- the links use a full file/UNC path, not
a relative one.

Well... you could have your recipient recreate the file structure in
which your xls are stored. It's a dumb solution, but it should work.

If your workbooks are in c:\documents and settings\Emily\My Documents
\Excel
your recipient could create \Emily\My Documents\Excel in her c:
\documents and settings folder (even though "Emily" is not a user on
the machine, and put the files in there.

Of course, depending on the path, she may need to have Administrator
privileges on her machine.

I tried zipping the folder and that seems to be working when I've sent it
internally, but if it doesn't work I'll try your idea. Thanks for the
suggestion!
