I've lost the cover and numbers for installing Office 2000. How can I
reinstall without them?

Try Belarc Advisor from www.belarc.com. I am running Office XP so I'm not
sure it will display the 2000 Key, but it's free so it's worth a try.

Hi, Bobbie. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823570 "How to
obtain a new product key for Office program setup".

Did you not the products that article applied to? Mainstream support for
Office 2000 ended eight months ago - besides, if it was OEM, MS wouldn't
assist anyway, they'd need to contact their OEM supplier (usually the
manufacturer/vendor of the system).

"Applies to" includes:
• Microsoft Excel 2000 Standard Edition
• Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Standard Edition
• Microsoft Outlook 2000 Standard Edition
• Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 Standard Edition
• Microsoft Word 2000 Standard Edition
which are components of Office 2000, so it's conceivable that the
article applies to Office 2000 too. Who said anything about OEM? If
you have a better suggestion, I'm sure the OP would appreciate reading
that much more than what you instead chose to write.
