How can I fix linked tables from an old Access file?

R

redlemons

Okay, so I've recieved a file from a friend, what does it do you ask? This
file (Actually 2 files) allows me to create a grocery list by simply scanning
a barcode.

The problem: It's an old Access file, and I'm using Access 2003...

When I try to edit the file I get these two errors:

And the second is a marco error.

I would be glad to send the files to someone who could fix them...

I hardly ever use the MSN one.

Instead, open the frontend database and choose Tools... Access
Utilities.... Linked Table Manger. Select all the tables, and click
OK. It will say it can't find the tables and give you the opportunity
to navigate to the folder which contains the "backend" - the second
database, the one with the tables in it. Once this has finished you
should be able to use the database. If you get a macro error please
just post the text of the error message (linking to a .gif is better
than posting a .gif as an attachment; thank you; but neither is
necessary).

Done, although this request is considered impolite. If it's worth my
time as an unpaid volunteer to come to the newsgroup to answer
questions, it should be worth your time to come back to the newsgroup
for the answer. In addition, others who have the same problem might
benefit from seeing the answer, live or in the Google archives.
