How can I get heavy black lines from appearing in Word document?

I am typing a form into Word and on page 6 I started to get darker(heavier)
than normal black line across the page. I can't get rid of them! They seem
to come in sets of two or three. I'm using Office 2003.

Page When You Type" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=303507 (though you
shouldn't see this in Word 2003, since it was corrected by an Office XP SP).
